Modi launches BHIM App for Digital Payments

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a UPI (United Payments Interface) app called BHIM, short for Bharat Interface for Money. Modi took part in the Digidhan Mela which was held at Thalak Thora grounds in Delhi. He said that finger print is your identification to make digital payment. The BHIM app, which would allow anyone to make simple digital payments or receive money through online banking, unlike a wallet where you have to first load the money before you can use it. There is no need to have Internet connectivity. But in India most of them are illiterates who do not know net banking and how safe is this for such people.
