Chandrababu Naidu Shifts his vote to Guntur

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu requested the Election Commission (EC) that his vote be shifted from Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills assembly cons tituency to an area in the upcoming capital Amaravati. They have submitted an application signed by Naidu to the EC officials in Vijayawada. AP CM has requested the EC to shift his vote to Undavalli of Guntur district, where his present house is located. Although Hyderabad was to serve as the joint capital for both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for a decade, the CM decided to change his home and official address after facing logistic issues and hostility from the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) government in the state. Naidu is of the view that at a time when the Telangana sentiment is still strong in Hyderabad, his presence here could be counterproductive. Instead, he wants to hand over the reins of the party to young leaders in Telangana who will take on the powerful TRS,” said sources within the party , adding that it can be safely said that the man credited with building the new Hyderabad has for all practical purposes bid adieu to the city forever.
